To my way of thinking, these accusations are not fair. I believe that parents can put a password on a computer, if children waste too much time on it. In this situation, adults can let their children make use a PC only one or two hours a day.

Taking everything into account, computers should be in every home, because it is very useful. However, parents need to control their children and do not let them waste time on surfing the Net.

Some people believe that using the Internet too much can be harmful for the person because you forget to do really important things. But others are convinced that the Internet is the modern way of living and it’s fine to use it as much as you want to.

In my opinion a person should restrict himself from surfing in the web too often. Undoubtedly, the Internet can solve problems with information. If you want to find a book or to know more facts about Columbus, for example, then the Internet is the right place. But most people abuse that source of information using it only for their own pleasure. In that case they just waste their time which could be spent on some other more important things.

Others are convinced that the Internet can’t be harmful to the person. They say that there are lots of opportunities which the Internet provides. They believe that you can use it anytime you want.

I cannot agree with the above opinions as these people fail to understand that you get benefit from the Internet only if you moderately and wisely use it. Otherwise, you just waste time doing something useless.

There are two different points of view on the problem. I believe that the Internet consumes a lot of time if you don’t use it in the right way.

The influence of education has always been a sensitive issue. While speaking of it, some say it polishes good natures and corrects bad ones, others disagree it is sometimes the case, but not the rule.

I tend to agree with the latter for two main reasons. The first one is the fact that education can pretty much flip one's nature. It cannot be denied that a noble person's morality can be ruined by unfair teachers and immoral peers, while some of those immoral people can be redeemed under the influence of competent teachers and intelligent and honest class- or groupmates. The second one is that the education system does not have building up a student's morality as its primary objective, which affects the outcome.

However, there are people that say education does teach people moral values that are able to enhance a good character and correct a bad one. They seem to think they are taught to students through literature and lessons of life.

I cannot agree with them, though. Sadly, the lessons of life are not always just and fair and they can easily teach a wrong thing to a young person. As for literature, way too few people take school and university literature seriously to consider it an important factor of education. I am certain of this based on my own experience.

To conclude, it is safe to say that although education can redeem an evil person and enhance the morality of a noble one, it does not accomplish that in all cases, and sometimes the outcome is quite the opposite.

Some say that private transport should be banned from big city central parts. Others argue that there is no reason for that.

I tend to agree with the former. Those city centres are usually not too big, so it is easy and not that time-consuming to get around them on foot. I cannot agree with them, though, since the fact they never considered a change does not make that change harmful. After all, how can they call something they never tried a bad idea? Especially when it seems reasonable in theory.

To conclude, I would like to say that banning cars from city centres at least for times they are most crowded would definitely be a positive change for the big cities and should be implemented by their governments, the sooner, the better

Soap operas are a somewhat sensitive issue when it comes to TV nowadays. Some say they are enjoyable and realistic, others argue that they are a worthless means of wasting time.

I tend to agree with the latter for two main reasons. The first one is the fact that their quality as a form of art is mediocre at best. They almost never demostrate a reasonably good acting performance or a well-made plot since their budgets are mostly quite low. The second is that they are ridiculously long, so even if you got interested in one after first ten or twenty episodes, you are bound to lose your ineterest after two hundred of them, or tho thousand in case of the famous Santa Barbara soap opera.

However, there are people that think the joy of soap operas comes from the fact they represent average people's lives and the viewers find themselves in the series' heroes.

I can't agree with them, though. It is a matter of taste, but I personally do not feel the realism even if the plot is entirely based on a true story and the acting is immaculate, which is, as mentioned earlier, almost never the case with those soap operas.

To conclude, it is safe to say that soap operas are a type of low quality series that are only good for wasting time and nothing more.
